Congrats Emily & Andrew!

Andrew & Emily Clark had their baby girl on Sunday morning, I was waiting to blog about it until I went to see them tonight & I was going to have a picture with it...but I forgot my camera. But baby Abagail was born at 9:04am, 7 lb. 11 oz. She is beautiful!!

All Better

I am posting once again without any pictures...BUT I just wanted to let everyone know that Ace is all better, no Swine Flu here. Parker's "sickness" just ended up being 2 mad little teeth breaking through (still in the process). He is SO FUSSY so I wouldn't dare take any pictures of the crying & snot dripping. Poor baby, he just wants me to carry him around all day, once I try to put him down, it's all over. I even broke out the Baby Bjorn yesterday, I'm not sure they are made for a 22 lb, 10 month old, but he liked it...mommy felt like somebody was standing on my shoulders. Come to the light, teeth! Break on through to the other side!

A Summer's Flu

So Ace & I are sitting here quarantined to our house because Ace has come down with Influenza Type A. Some men dressed in all black came & took Parker to Ace's parents' house & there is a big "Quarantine" stamp on our front door. Just kidding. But I did take Parker to Amma & Pop's today just to keep him healthy. I still feel fine, but I can't leave Ace all alone with the flu, how bad would that stink to be sick and not have anyone to bring you pink lemonade in a cup with a bendy straw & hot soup & grilled cheese sandwiches? So I'm here, I think my throat is starting to hurt...

Late Night Blog Beautification

So yea, here I am sitting here at 11:16pm playing with my blog, adding page elements, impressing even myself on my computer skills...but I still can't figure out how to make one of those pretty headers that others of you have. Someone help me please :) OH YEAH and become a "follower" of my blog, scroll down, on the left side (that's also something new I've magically added), much of this is "could I do it again? maybe, maybe not". Now it's 11:28pm, going to bed...

Father's Day

Happy 1st Father's Day Ace! (yes I'm a little late posting this) Parker got his Daddy a new golf bag. And Happy 29th Father's Day to my Dad, Erika got her Daddy a new shirt. We spent Father's Day up at my Dad's house & had a fabulous dinner prepared by Dad & Kim, thanks guys!

Engaged!

Ace's Best Friend Michael & his girlfriend Nikki are engaged! Congratulations guys!

Ace's High School Reunion

Saturday night was Ace's 10 Year High School Reunion & everyone met up at our house beforehand so we could ride together in the totally awesome limo we had for the night. OK, the limo has a story, it was a 1990 limo that is one of Ace's contractor's tailgating limo, & if you know Ace, Michael, Jimmy & Mark, you know that they thought it was the funniest thing ever to show up in this klunker, needless to say the ladies didn't think this was funny at all, but we'll live! It was totally straight out of "The Burbs" - that movie from the 80's...Jimmy, Lindsay, Mark, Nikki, Michael, Erika & Ace

BFF's from High School - Ace, Jimmy, Mark, & Michael

Vacation Bible School

Last week was Parker's (& my) very first week at Vacation Bible School. I volunteered as a teacher's helper for 3rd grade & Parker was in the "Joeys" class with the other teachers' babies. Hopefully Parker will be able to go every year until he is too old to go & he can say that he's been every year since birth. Oh & by the way, Briarlake Baptist Church did an amazing job with planning this memorable week for all the kids! Here is a picture of us in our matching VBS t-shirts.

1st Word?

So we think Parker may have said his 1st real word tonight.....& it was....drumroll.....

MAAA MAAA!!! (& it sounded just like I wrote it)

What do you think, let me set this up for you...we had him in his crib & we were standing in front of him & he was saying ma ma ma ma ma, just babble but still ma ma ma ma ma. Then I said who is this, & pointed to him (Parker) & he got all shy & quiet, then I said "who is this?" & pointed to myself, & he wrinkled his brow like he was getting ready to try really hard, & YELLED out MAA MAA!!! & then was silent. Yes that's right, just 2 "ma ma's". So I am going to go ahead & say that Parker's 1st word was Ma Ma.
I mean, it's not like I have been practicing with him everyday in 1 hour incrememts with flash cards & rewarding him with lolly pops when he says ma ma or rewarding him with green beans when he says da da or anything like that. I mean, it's not a competiton. (I won).

Will Stand for Food

Parker has been standing on his own for a couple of weeks now, usually it's only for a couple of seconds so it's hard to catch on camera. But here is the proof. Here he is holding his favorite, puffs...

Ode to Water in Lake Lanier!

This was Parker's 1st trip to the lake on Ace's parents' boat, (finally!), I have been dying to get up there with him. This look is similiar to "the face" but is more "this big puffy thing is really funny for a minute but you are taking it off of me soon, right?"

Parker feeding the ducks

Lake Lanier has been practically dry for the past few years because of a combination of the drought & the Army Corp. feeding water to somewhere to save some endangered muscles (or something like that) but with all the rain this year it is like a brand new lake! Look how pretty...
