I Two!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our baby boy!...What?! 2 Years has already gone by - my baby boy is growing so fast (tear). 8/18/08 - Parker was born on lucky 8's, hard to believe this day 2 whole years ago I became a mommy for the 1st time, I was scared, tired, excited, scared, happy, did I say scared yet? Then since that fatefull day 2 years ago, I've become a mommy for the 2nd time, (much less scared the 2nd time around, by the way). Having children is the best thing I ever did, & the hardest thing I've ever done. I don't know that there is anything that has quite that level of "best" & "hardest" at the same time. I've said this before, but you don't get how much your parents love you until you have a child of your own. It is so amazing to see him grow & learn everyday. Everything new he does makes me want to cry, partly because he's so amazing (this little person grew in my belly?!), & partly because every milestone he meets means that he is getting a little older. Now, I know two is still teeny-weeny but you know what I mean...
Short story from my childhood - I can remember standing in the kitchen of our 1st house (so I was probably 5 or 6) & my Mom said "ohh, don't grow any bigger, stay this age forever" & I wanted to stay young for the rest of my childhood because she was so sweetly sad when she said that. I really didn't ever desire to get to that next number that every other kid wants to be... 10, 13, 16, and so on. Not sure when I did want to get another year older, I'm guessing it was 21... And after 21 I was back to not wanting to be a year older. And I say that same thing to Parker all the time, "stay this age forever". Will I create that same complex for him? Sweet baby boy.

Snap out of it Erika! OK, so Parker had so much fun at his backyard Beach Party on Saturday & a fun day today (his real birthday) with Mommy, Daddy, & Sissy. He is wiped out from all this partying. Whew!
Current 2 Year Old Stats:
  • Height - 35" - 75%
  • Weight - 28 lb. 12 oz. - 50%-75%
  • Head - 49cm. - 50%-75%

As Parker would say, "I two!"

Jumperoo Phase of Life

Charlotte has entered into a more fun phase of life - life with the Jumperoo! Parker LOVED this & it provided many hours of entertainment for him. Charlotte's little legs may not be long enough to touch the floor yet but she can still bounce. Now just to figure out how to keep Parker out of it...

Dinner with Friends

Our friends Courtney & Alex were nice enough to invite us over for dinner... with both kids...the crazy dial was turned up a few notches for the Tetterton household that evening. We hadn't ever met their 6 month old, Hudson, & they hadn't yet met Charlotte either. Here are our sweet kids together for the 1st time...

Off to Camp Dunroven!

Parker left today for his 1st time to Camp Dunroven for overnight camp. Really it's just his Amma & Pop's house, but this time it's with his 2 older cousins, & they call it "Camp Dunroven" because that's the road they live on. I'll miss my big boy but I get to enjoy some quiet time with baby Charlotte for the next couple of days, which will be oh so nice!

Before they left, they enjoyed some pool time in our backyard.
