Our 10 Pounder

Our sweet big boy is 10 pounds now! We had a Dr's appt. today for him, he is healthy & has grown to 21.5 inches, 2 inches longer from when he was born. Still doesn't have much body fat, we're anticipating that chunky-monkey stage soon though, as I am weening him off "mommy milk" & creeping towards an all-formula diet. It is true what they say about babies growing fast, last night when I changed him out of his pee-pee clothes in the middle of the night (boys pee pee mysterially comes out of the diaper & yet the diaper still seems dry) he seemed bigger from when I put him to bed! Since I haven't been working I have become a bit of a night owl & so is Parker, he doesn't like to be put to bed, but we have found if you don't make eye-contact, it is easier to get him down. He is only waking up once during the night to eat now, going on 2 weeks on that schedule, so I am not such a zombie anymore.

So one thing I have noticed on Facebook is that everyone's babies are being born and a bunch of people are pregnant! I was the first of a long line of preggers friends to have a baby in 2008, congratulations everyone on your new babies! We've still got 2 more coming for 2008, then a few more are due in 2009! A couple pieces of advice I can give is pump your baby full of milk before they go to bed, that way they won't wake up as much at night, the other piece of advice, watch John & Kate Plus 8 after your baby is born, it will make you feel much better about no sleep & the major changes you are experiencing with your new baby. How did they do it with 6 newborns, I would have had to farm a couple out to each of my friends and say "I'll see you in a couple of months!" And another one to help you feel more normal is "A Baby Story" on in the afternoons on TLC, it just makes me feel better that everyone experiences the exact same things as I am with a new baby. But really, every day it gets easier, I was hesitant to believe people when they told me that, but it is true, I promise. Parker is the most precious little guy, we LOVE LOVE LOVE him :)
As of right now, we think his hair is RED! And his eyes are still blue, but both might change. He has a red-head complexion too, definately not Ace's olive skin.
Here are a couple of cute pics of him recently:

This is Parker trying to breast feed on the pillow, he tries to breast feed on everything, pillows, blankets, men, women, when he starts bopping his head & snorting, yes snorting, we know he's hungry!
